How to Layer Jewelry
A few easy rules for stacking necklaces, earrings, and bracelets so everything looks intentional, not accidental.
Start with one piece, then build
Pick a necklace that means something to you — that's your anchor. Add a second at least two inches shorter or longer so the chains sit apart instead of tangling. Mix a fine chain with a slightly heavier one, and keep them in the same metal tone for an effortless, everyday look.
Mix studs, hoops, and something in between
Stacking earrings works the same way jewelry layering always does — vary the size so nothing competes. A small stud close to the lobe, a slightly bigger hoop below it, and one unexpected detail in between is enough to look intentional without looking busy.
Let your wrist tell its own story
Two or three bracelets in different widths and finishes read as curated, not cluttered. Keep one thin and simple, one with more texture, and leave a little space between them so they move naturally when you do.
